Itinerary
Welcome at the hotel, a small treat and local drink, meet the hosts and tour of the premises. Walking tour in Naousa, know the town’s history and visit key points with light lunch in a pie store. Visit the ancient city of Mieza and the school of Aristotle and have an introduction to ancient Greek philosophy. Dinner and night out.
Departure for the Shore of the Artificial Lake of Aliakmon for a birdwatching experience. After a picnic and relaxation in nature, return to Veria and take part in a traditional art workshop with local artists. Dinner and night out. Return to the hotel and rest.
After a traditional Greek breakfast visit a local winery and wander in the vineyards, know the ageing and bottling process and finally taste the local wines. Lunch in a traditional picturesque tavern. After a short rest visit a local cheese production unit in Veria and try a selection of cheeses while getting to know the production line. Dinner and night out.
Visit Veria, a walking tour in town, with stops at key points to talk about the 3 main communities. Lunch in a picturesque and coffee with signature dessert. Felting workshop with a local artist. Return to Veria, dinner & night out.
Early breakfast and tour in the region surrounding Veria with visits to significant Christian churches and Monasteries. Visit the Holy Monastery of Timios Prodromos, the holy Monastery of Theotokos Kallipetra, and the holy Monastery of Virgin Mary Soumela, and stop for lunch. Return to Veria for coffee. Last visit of the day, the Archaeological site of Saint Patapios. End with dinner.
After a strengthening breakfast, hike to Metamorfosi and stop in Vathres, the natural pools, where one can take a dive. Picnic lunch in the forest and a meditation session in nature after some rest. Visit Naousa for dinner and night out. Return to Veria.
Departure for our hotel in Pieria. Small treat and a local drink, meet the hosts and tour the premises Visit the region of Pieria and have a guided tour of the Archaeological Site of Dion & the Archaeological Museum. Lunch in a traditional picturesque tavern. Visit the Centre of Mediterranean Mosaics which is followed by a mosaic workshop. Dinner and night out.
Visit the villages around Mt Olympus, the abandoned Palia Vrontou and the nearby church of Agia Kori. Stop at a picturesque point for lunch. Visit the Village of Petra and the Holy Monastery of the Presentation of the Virgin Mary. Return to the hotel for dinner.
Visit local farm and cheese production unit. Meet the producers and their animals and try a selection of cheeses while getting to know the production line. Light lunch in a picturesque tavern and departure for Kolindros. Pottery workshop with local artist. Return to Litochoro for dinner and night out.
Prepare for departure. Visit Katerini and get acquainted with the city via a biking tour. Know the town’s religious history and visit key points, talk about the Muslim community that had faded in time. End the vacation with lunch, departure for Thessaloniki.
