    Sikinos

An authentic island with peaceful beaches, Cycladic architecture, and a spiritual atmosphere.

Sikinos is one of the quietest and least explored islands of the Cyclades, ideal for those seeking peace, authenticity, and a deep connection with nature and themselves. The picturesque Chora, with its Castle, cobbled streets, simple cafes, and the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi, shapes a unique spiritual and aesthetic landscape. Here, there is no rush—only the sound of the wind, the Aegean light, and the vineyards stretching across the terraces. The few beaches, such as Dialiskari and Agios Georgios, offer clear waters and seclusion. On Sikinos, you will find the beauty of simplicity and the value of tranquility.

    Highlights

    Chora

Built high on the hill, divided into two settlements on separate ridges, Chora features windmills, narrow lanes with geraniums and bougainvillea, and stone houses. A walk through its cobbled streets leads to the monastery. The fortified settlement of the Castle is the oldest part of Chora and worth exploring.

    The Castle

A Venetian fortress from the 13th century once stood here, giving the area its name. Today it’s a charming, lively neighborhood with narrow alleys and whitewashed houses. At its heart is the main square and the Church of Pantanassa.

    Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi

Perched high above the Castle, this fortified monastery was originally built in 1690 as a nunnery where locals sought refuge during pirate raids. Recently opened to the public, it offers a chance to visit the church and enjoy panoramic views.

    Episkopi Church

Believed to be the remains of a 3rd-century Roman mausoleum converted into a church in the 7th century and later into a monastery. Several excellent hiking trails start here, and in summer, a bus service operates daily.

    Beaches

Sikinos’ beaches are pristine, with crystal-clear waters. Alopronia, Agios Georgios, and Dialiskari are accessible by road. Others, like Agios Panteleimonas, Santorineika, Agios Ioannis, and Malta, can be reached by boat or footpaths.

    IDEAL DESTINATION

Sikinos – The Cycladic Serenity forgotten by time

Nestled between Ios and Folegandros, Sikinos stands out for its calm and simplicity. With fewer than 300 residents, it is an authentic island untouched by mass tourism. Chora, with its fortified Castle, rich winemaking tradition, and unique countryside chapels, creates an environment of peace and introspection. It is an ideal destination for travelers who value silence, genuineness, and discreet beauty.

    Gastronomy - Local Cuisine

Sikinos’ local cuisine offers a wide variety of delicious dishes made with high-quality local products. Fresh fish and seafood take center stage, often accompanied by fresh salads with local capers and string beans. The island is also famous for its dairy products, thyme honey, fine wine, and its renowned pastelia (sesame and honey bars).

    Best Time to Visit

The ideal time to visit Sikinos is during the summer months, when you can enjoy swimming at its stunning beaches and exploring its unspoiled nature.

    Moving from/to Sikinos

    Transportation in Sikinos

Sikinos is connected by ferry to the ports of Piraeus and Lavrio, through frequent itineraries, especially during the summer. The island is connected by ferry to the other islands of the Cyclades, while, alternatively, travel by air to Santorini and from there go to Sikinos, via the local ferry connection.

    Public Transportation

Sikinos has a small road network within it that connects its two settlements as well as the beaches that can be reached by car. There is a local bus, with regular inland routes, while by boat, the most inaccessible beaches are approached. Use a car or motorbike for other transportation, as there are no taxis on the island.

    Αthens, Santorini and Corfu
My Kids and I loved the trip except for our lost baggage from the Aegean airlines upon arrival at Athens at the start of the trip.Loved all the sightseeing. Tour guides and Pick up services were awesome!! Tour guides were very knowledgeable in their area and history of the city and my kids and I loved that. They answered all our questions. Pick up services were always on time.I just wish I had a little more time in Corfu to do the boat tour as I had planned. Wasn’t able to accomplish that. Loved the wine tasting, Oia and Fira in Santorini. Thank You so much for helping me plan this trip. Great memories made on this trip!!Savita

Mata/ChristineThe feedback from all delegates was very positive about all the arrangements provided by the hotel and your good selves. Accommodation, meals and overall satisfaction from the hotel was very good. The renovated rooms help to bring the best of the hotel – the gala dinner room location was fantastic. Please give this feedback to the hotel too. All the transfers, excursions, the drivers, guide etc were performed professionally and all delegates again had something good to say about your services and the way you have handled the management of these activities. Overall well done. This is a genuine feedback and hope that makes you feel satisfied for a job well done

It was a real pleasure to meet you. The passengers were happy with all your details and the beautiful country of Greece. Regarding food, I must thank you for the care you took to choose the places and the dishes. They were all a great success. The menus, even in Spanish, were totally appreciated. Regarding accommodation, I found the hotel nice, comfortable and well located. The breakfast room is a bit busy in the mornings, but the food tastes great. And the view of the Parthenon from the top roof is impressive. Transportation good. The tours seemed good to me. Tour guides have a good command of the Spanish language and were quite friendly.  Regarding contact and respond from the company. I must emphasize that there is only praise for you, Anna. You really are a great person. The joy of your soul is transmitted around everything you do. Always with a smile no matter how tiring the tourist activity is. The details and care with which you do your job are extremely applaudable. I only have one word but for you THANKFULNESS.October 2023

    One more Thank You
Dear Mata and Desi,I mean it when I say I have never been exposed to such level of loving care in the world of travel.  We were not just your clients. We felt like your family. You cared for us, and all of our many (many! Many!) different needs. You showed Stuart such respect. You were patient with some in our group who would not always ask things with proper respect. You kept showing up in places we did not expect. You made visits to the pharmacy, and extra trips with your car, all to make us feel comfortable and at home.Truly—you are at the top of your business, and it shows. I do not even remember how we initially found you. But however it was, I am so grateful for this friendship and partnership. And I do mean it when I hope that we do many trips together in the future, and that I can send many of my colleagues to you for trips. It is hard for this trip to be over and to say goodbye. Know that we mean it when we say we have not only appreciation for you. But love for you.Αντίο και σας ευχαριστούμε και σας αγαπάμε και είμαστε ενθουσιασμένοι που θα σας δούμε σύντομα.With a heart that is full because we know one another, and heavy because we have to say goodbye!
