The Monastery of Molivdoskepasti is the most impressive monument of the Byzantine era. The main church is separated from the narthex by a wooden door carved with scenes from the Bible, an exquisite symbol of Byzantine art, while the beautiful frescoes date back to the 16th century.
Drakolimni
The Drakolimni of Tymfi is an alpine lake located on Mount Tymfi. The lake was formed ten thousand years ago due to the melting of glaciers. Access is via the village of Mikro Papingo and the ascent takes about 5 hours.
The Konitsa Bridge
The bridge of Konitsa, also known as the Aoos bridge, is one of the most beautiful stone bridges of Epirus. It was built by the foreman Ziogas Frontzos from Pyrsogianni in 1870. With its arch reaching 20 meters, it is considered one of the tallest bridges in the Balkans.

Transportation options from/to the airport
Ioannina has a national airport. You can fly there from Athens, which usually takes 45 minutes to 1 hour. From there, you can visit Konitsa by renting a vehicle at the airport.
If you prefer to travel by KTEL (intercity bus), the journey from Athens to Ioannina takes 6 to 7 hours. From Ioannina, there are local buses that take you to Konitsa and the villages of the wider area.
The most practical and comfortable option is certainly to visit Konitsa with your own car.
