In the northwestern part of Kimolos, west of the "Sklavos" hill, there is a huge stone mushroom that the locals call "Skiadi".

Gastronomic journey to Kimolos
Using local ingredients, the locals prepare in the tavernas and restaurants of the island excellent tomato fritters with sun-dried tomatoes and mountain capers, delicious local goat with koulouridi (a pasta resembling tagliatelle), saganaki with gilomeni manoura, and thick honey pies with goat and sheep myzithra. Do not leave the island without trying ladenia, the local pizza with tomato and onion, as well as tyrenia, a type of cheese pie with delicious dough.

How to get around Kimolos
Transport options from/to the airport
The island is not connected by air to the mainland, as it does not have an airport. However, you can fly to Milos airport and from there take a ferry to the island.
By sea, Kimolos is connected to the port of Piraeus, with several routes during the summer season, as well as to the surrounding islands.
Public Transport
To get around the interior of Kimolos, there is a small local bus that runs from the port and the Village to the beaches accessible by asphalt road, and one taxi for the more distant beaches. However, if you stay for more than 3-4 days, we recommend bringing your own car or motorbike or renting one on the island, in order to explore as many places as you can!
