Kamares Aqueduct
An impressive Ottoman-era aqueduct, essentially a reconstruction of an older, likely Roman one. The aqueduct originated near the banks of the Tremithos River and spanned approximately 15 km in length, bringing water to Larnaca and remaining in active use until 1939. Starting from the aqueduct, a scenic walking trail leads all the way to the Salt Lake wetland.
Larnaca Castle
Perhaps the city's most popular attraction, it was built in the 14th century as a fortress. It took its current form during the Ottoman period in the 17th century. The castle was constructed to protect the southern coast of Cyprus and later served as a prison.
Hala Sultan Tekke Mosque
One of the most important places of worship for Muslims—ranked fourth in significance after Mecca, Medina, and the Al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem. The mosque was built in 1787 in honor of Umm Haram, who was a relative of the Prophet Muhammad.
Church of Saint Lazarus
One of the most important religious monuments of Cyprus and Christianity. The church was built in the 9th century over the tomb of Lazarus, the man resurrected by Jesus. It was constructed around 890 AD by the Byzantine Emperor Leo VI the Wise.
Lefkara
A village famous for its lace, known as *"Lefkaritika"*, and its silver handicrafts. Its name derives from the white color of the limestone rocks of the surrounding mountains.It features cobblestone alleys and picturesque architecture, and is divided into two administrative districts: Pano (Upper) and Kato (Lower) Lefkara.
