Central Greece and Peloponnese tour [13days]

After your breakfast we will start the tour around the sites of Athens. This tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Our expert guides will take you to see the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of modern times were held in 1896 (short stop). Continue and pass by the Prime Minister’s residence (ex Royal Palace) guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian’s Arch, the Parliament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the University, the National Library, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). On the Acropolis visit the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and finally “the harmony between material and spirit”, the monument that “puts order in the mind”, the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the classical era: The new Acropolis museum. The evening is free. Today we have free time to enjoy the beauties of Athens. You can revisit some of the sites that interest you, or just stroll in the picturesque paved streets in Plaka. On the other hand if you wish to take another guided tour we can assist you with a variety of options or since you have the car you can take a short nearby tour like to the coastal area of Athens or in Loutraki or even to the beautiful city of Chalkida. After your breakfast in the hotel start your drive towards the city of Kalabaka. Visit Meteora and enjoy a unique and most impressive scenery with ageless Monasteries, containing priceless historical and religious treasures, standing between earth and sky atop huge rocks. Overnight in Kalabaka.

Breakfast at the hotel. After that continue for the mystic Delphi. Optional stop in Livadia and the picturesque village of Arachova, on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, arrive in Delphi and visit the Archaeological Site and Museum. Overnight in Delphi

Breakfast at the hotel. Depart for Olympia. Pass through the wonderful bridge that unites Rio to Antirion and continue fo the cradle of the Olympic Games. Arrive in your hotel and check in. In the afternoon, visit the museum and the Olympia site (UNESCO site) and overnight in Olympia.

Breakfast at the hotel. Then departure to Kalamata. Check in to your hotel and free time to enjoy the coastal city. Overnight in Kalamata.

After your breakfast at the hotel we suggest you take a tour to Pylos, Methoni and Finikounda. Pylos the mythic city of the wise King Nestor, Methoni the beautiful Venetian Castle and Finikounda the palm tree forest. Overnight in Kalamata.

Breakfast at the hotel. Continue the trip in the southern part of the Peloponnese. This time our destination is the mighty Sparta. Arrival at your hotel and check in. Time to visit the site and local museum. Overnight in Sparta.

After your breakfast take a short trip to the castle city of Mystras, the Byzantine fortified city with the imposing remains. Mystras was a prosperous state during the Byzantine and Ottoman years and is still an intriguing place to visit. It features the remains of impressive churches and still amazes with the architectural style and its fascinating aura, which explains why it was occupied by both the Venetians and the Ottomans and became the hub of Byzantine scholarships and culture during the Byzantine Era. Breakfast at the hotel. Start the drive heading north to Greece’s first capital of Nafplion. On the way stop to the Gibraltar of the east Monemvasia. Arrive in Nafplion and check in to your hotel. Free afternoon. Overnight in Nafplion.

After breakfast start the tour in the local ancient sites. The imposing theater in Epidaurus, the acropolis in Myceane. In the afternoon we suggest to take a swim in the beach of Tolo. Overnight in Nafplio

Take your breakfast and depending on the time of your flight start your journey back to Athens which will lead you to the airport to take the return flight.
