Itinerary
Upon arrival at Thessaloniki airport, the local correspondent will help the visitors with the recovery of the car and departure to the hotel. Get a first taste of the city with a stroll through the city centre on foot. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Breakfast at the hotel. Discover the city of Thessaloniki. Visits in famous museums and a city tour with stops at the White Tower and the Arch of Galerius. Along the way, visitors can find lots of cafes, boutiques, and restaurants with delicious Greek specialties. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure to Ioannina and visit Ioannina Castle. Take the boat to the island of Lake Pamvotida. The tour starts at the Municipal Ethnographic Museum (Ali Pasha Mosque) and embarks on a pedestrian exploration through the cobbled streets of the old town. Visitors will arrive at the “heart of the castle”, the citadel of Kale and after a short walk to the lakeside docks, the boats will be waiting to take everyone on a short trip to the Island of Legends; the island of the famous
Ali Pasha and Lady Frosini; an island with 7 Byzantine monasteries. Visits at the Philanthropini Monastery with frescoes dating from the mid-16th century and the Museum of the Greek Revolution. During the day, there will be plenty of free time to enjoy traditional Ioannina cuisine and buy traditional souvenirs and sweets. Overnight in Ioannina.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the charming villages of Zagoria. The 46 stone villages on the slopes of the Pindus, an original setting of mountains and forests and gorges: visit Monodendri and Tsepelovo. Overnight in Ioannina.
Breakfast at the hotel. Visit the villages of Mikro (small) Papingo and Megalo (large) Papingo: around twenty remarkably restored, traditional houses to take visitors back in time while admiring the wild nature of the place. Overnight in Ioannina.
Breakfast at the hotel. Departure for Meteora. Visit Meteora, with old Monasteries filled with exquisite specimens of Byzantine art. Meteora is a group of monasteries built on spectacular natural sandstone rocks in central Greece. The site has been classified by UNESCO as a unique phenomenon of cultural heritage (frescoes, monastic life, method of construction) and natural qualities. Stairs with hundreds of steps and a well-paved hairpin road take visitors to the entrance to the monasteries. Dinner and overnight in Kalambaka.
Breakfast at the hotel. Return to Thessaloniki and take part in a walking tour. Overnight in Thessaloniki.
