Itinerary
Arrival at Thessaloniki airport where you will pick up your car. Drive to Naoussa (120 km, 1h 45m) a beautiful city in Macedonia located between amazing mountains with nature and great traditional food. For the afternoon you will visit one of the great wineries of the region. After the wine taste, return to Naoussa. We suggest you visit Arcohori village located just outside of the city in a fairytale forest, there you can enjoy the magnificent nature and have dinner at a traditional greek tavern with authentic recipes from the region.
Start your day with delicious breakfast and then we offer you to go to the region of Amyntaio (80 km, 1h 20min) to explore authentic local wineries. We offer to plunge into the atmosphere of winemaking. This is a great opportunity to learn more about wine making and taste different types of wine. After that we offer you to enjoy the dinner in a traditional tavern to try traditional dishes. Then return to your hotel in Naoussa and have a rest.
Starting the 3rd day of your trip with breakfast at the hotel as early as possible because we have prepared for you a full day trip to Goumenissa & Pozar’s hot baths. Goumenissa is 65 km away and it’s a 1 hour drive. Goumenissa is a viticultural production zone of Dry Red (ProtectedDesignation of Origin) Wine and it’s recognized in 1979. The bulk of the vineyards, about 2,000 acres and planted with the red Xinomavro and Negoska varieties, extends on the eastern slopes of Mount Paiko and on hills with gentle slopes and an altitude of more than 150m. There are 3 very popular local wineries in Goumenissa and we can visit all of them. When the wine-day-tour ends, we suggest you take the car and go to Pozar’s hot baths for an amazing experience of taking a hot bath, regardless of the weather, while being surrounded by a dense forest. After Pozar we recommend a local favorite restaurant, to stay cozy while refueling your body with amazing local food. Next and last step is to take the car and drive for an hour back to the Hotel in Naoussa. End of day.
