Itinerary
Start your day by arriving at the port of Psathi and head to Chora (Horio), the island’s only main village. Explore the charming labyrinth of whitewashed alleys, flowered courtyards, and the historic medieval Castle district. In the afternoon, visit the Archaeological Museum to see artifacts from the sunken ancient city of Ellinika. End your evening at a cozy local taverna, tasting ladenia (a traditional local flatbread with tomato and olive oil).
Dedicate your morning to Prassa beach, world-famous for its white sand derived from the island’s chalky soil and its incredibly bright turquoise waters. In the afternoon, visit the nearby picturesque fishing settlement of Goupa to photograph the colorful sirmata boat houses and take a dip in the calm waters of Rema. Enjoy a relaxed seafood dinner by the port of Psathi.
Begin your day with a scenic hike through the island’s rugged interior to discover Skiadi, the massive, wind-carved stone mushroom that overlooks the Aegean. The trail offers breathtaking panoramic views of neighboring islands. Afterward, head to the wide, sandy beach of Mavrospilia to relax and witness a spectacular, unobstructed sunset over the sea.
Embark on a morning boat excursion to Polyaigos, the largest uninhabited island in the Aegean and a protected habitat for the Mediterranean monk seal. Swim in the otherworldly, vibrant waters of “Blue Bay” and marvel at the wild volcanic cliffs. Return to Kimolos in the afternoon and enjoy a peaceful evening stroll and live local music in Chora.
Spend your final morning walking along the peaceful shores of Aliki or Bonatsa beach, enjoying the shallow waters and the natural shade of the tamarisk trees. Stroll past the quiet coastline, picking up authentic local souvenirs like wild capers or sweet paximadia before relaxing with a final frappe or Greek coffee at a café, soaking in the gentle island vibes one last time before your departure.
