Ioannina – Zagorohoria [8days]

Take breakfast in Ioannina. Then we suggest a visit at the castle and the old city, enjoy the v iew from “Its Kale Café” and visit the very interesting Byzantine museum. Have lunch in one of the traditional taverns of the city. Overnight.

Start the day with breakfast in Ioannina and then we propose taking the boat to the “Nisaki” island of Ioannina (multiple routes through the day). Walk around the island to see ancient monasteries like the one of Moni Agios Nikolaos and visit the museum of Ali Pasha. After you can enjoy lunch in one of the nice taverns of the island and then return to the city after that we suggest you to visit the Tzoumerka region for rafting or to explore the historical monasteries of the region with amazing views and natural beauties. Return to Ioannina and enjoy the night in the colorful city.

Start early in the morning to visit the Zagori region with picturesque villages with cobblestone streets and houses made completely out of stone. Then drive to Konitsa and see the majestic and well known bridge of Konitsa. Enjoy the traditional food offered in the small local taverns and try local recipes made with lamb and spend the night in one of the authentic hotels in Konitsa.

We propose starting early in the morning and departing at 8 o’clock for hiking to the Dragons lake on Papingo (full day trip) or for something more relaxing visit the rock pools of mount Papingo. After that enjoy free time. Overnight.

Enjoy Greek breakfast in Zagorohoria and then we suggest visiting one of the wineries of the region and enjoy the wine tasting, otherwise you can visit Perama Cave – the second largest Cave in Greece. Return to Konitsa and enjoy the evening. Overnight.
