Itinerary
Depart for Greece
Arrive in Athens, the classical capital of Greece, and transfer to your hotel. The remainder of the day is at leisure to discover this city known as the cradle of Western Civilization and the birthplace of democracy. Your tour will begin with an orientation meeting with your Tour Manager at approximately 6 PM, followed by dinner at a local restaurant. We recommend you select flights which arrive no later than 4 PM

Begin the day with a walking tour of Athens viewing some of its iconic landmarks. Next, visit the Acropolis, the ancient architectural masterpiece built during the Golden Age of Athens, crowned by the Parthenon, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Continue with a tour of the Acropolis Museum, a striking modern building built at the base of the monument where many of the original statues from the Acropolis are now displayed. In the afternoon, walk through some of the city’s most popular districts, such as Plaka, Thisio, Monastiraki, and Philopappou Hill, with the opportunity to sample traditional Greek delicacies. Transfer to Piraeus port early this morning and board the high-speed ferry to Naxos Island, the largest of the Cyclades. Upon arrival, head to Melanes village, the starting point of the walk. Along the way, you’ll encounter historical landmarks like the statue of Kouros, an unfinished marble statue dating back to the 6th century BC, lying in the original quarry. Continue onward to Potamia, a cluster of three small villages, consisting of Ano, Mesi, and Kato Potamia, where the hike ends. There will be free time for lunch before traveling to Eggares village

Today, take a walking tour of the town of Naxos. Wander through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town and visit the Venetian Castle (Kastro), perched on a hilltop. Your guide will provide insight into the island’s history and culture. Continue along the paved path to the islet of Palatia, where you can admire the impressive marble Portara gate and take in stunning views. In the afternoon, head to Halki village, known for its handmade loom-woven textiles and its citrus distillery. During free time in Halki, you may visit the citrus distillery independently. Later, begin the hike to Moni through the lush Tragea Valley, known as the “Green Heart of Naxos,” passing by ancient olive groves, the remnants of old stone terraces, and centuries-old Byzantine chapels. Along the way, stop in the village of Kaloxylos to visit a 400-year-old Olive Press Museum, one of Naxos’s oldest remaining olive mills. Discover traditional methods of olive oil production and learn about the island’s agricultural heritage. Conclude with a tasting of a variety of olive-based delicacies. The trail takes you to the historic Panagia Drosiani Church, which dates to the end of the 6th century AD before completing your rewarding walk to the village of Moni. Spend the morning at leisure to unwind on the beach and go on for a refreshing swim. Later, transfer to the port to board the ferry to the volcanic island of Santorini. Following a walk around the island’s capital, Fira, indulge in a wine tasting experience in Santorini, a world-renowned destination for exceptional wines crafted from its volcanic soil. Begin the hike from Fira on one of the most scenic trails on Santorini. The path winds along the island’s caldera edge, offering awe-inspiring views of whitewashed villages, rugged cliffs, and the shimmering Aegean Sea. Take in the beauty of Santorini’s iconic landscapes, from volcanic rock formations to blue-domed churches. The trail meanders through the picturesque villages of Firostefani and Imerovigli. Upon reaching Oia, you’ll have free time to explore at your own pace. Walk around its narrow streets lined with boutiques and art galleries. For lunch, choose one of the numerous restaurants with rooftop terraces offering breathtaking caldera views. In the afternoon, transfer to Ammoudi Bay where you’ll board a catamaran for an unforgettable cruise within the caldera. You will have the opportunity to swim in the mineral-rich waters of the famed Hot Springs and explore secluded bays and beaches. Enjoy a freshly prepared BBQ dinner aboard the catamaran.
