Itinerary
Welcome to Greece, the land of apostolic preaching. Upon arrival at Athens International Airport, your group will be warmly received by your dedicated Mazi tour escort and private driver. We begin our pilgrimage with a welcome lunch at a traditional local restaurant, offering a first taste of authentic Greek hospitality and fellowship. Transfer to our 4-star hotel via our private luxury coach for check-in. The afternoon is dedicated to gathering our thoughts and preparing our hearts for the days ahead. Your Spiritual Director will lead the opening Holy Mass at a reserved, quiet venue, invoking the Holy Spirit’s blessing upon our pilgrimage. Dinner at the hotel restaurant and overnight in Athens.
After a rich buffet breakfast, we ascend the sacred rock of the Acropolis to admire the architectural pinnacle of ancient human wisdom. Directly below lies Mars Hill (the Areopagus), where human philosophy met Divine Revelation. Here, standing on the very rock where St. Paul delivered his immortal sermon (Acts 17:22-31), your Spiritual Director will read the Scriptures aloud, reflecting on Paul’s boldness in proclaiming the “Unknown God” and the Resurrection to the Athenians. Following this profound moment, we stroll through the historic Plaka district for a traditional lunch at a local tavern. The afternoon offers free time for quiet reflection, prayer, or personal exploration. A quiet venue will be arranged for Holy Mass. Dinner at the 4-star hotel and overnight in Athens.
Today we drive along the Saronic Gulf, crossing the Corinth Canal to Ancient Corinth. St. Paul lived and labored here as a tentmaker alongside Aquila and Priscilla for 18 months, establishing a vibrant Christian community. We walk through the ancient forum and stand before the Bema (Judgment Seat) of Gallio, where Paul defended his ministry. Here, we reflect deeply on Paul’s First Letter to the Corinthians and his immortal Hymn to Love (1 Cor. 13). After celebrating Holy Mass in the area, we enjoy a lunch at a traditional local tavern. In the morning, we transfer to the Port of Piraeus and board the ferry for a short, scenic sailing to the island of Aegina. Surrounded by an atmosphere of deep reverence, your Spiritual Director will lead a prayer reflection and celebrate Holy Mass. We then gather at a seaside tavern for a delicious traditional lunch featuring fresh regional specialties. In the late afternoon, we board the ferry back to Piraeus and transfer to our hotel. Following breakfast at the hotel, and depending on your flight schedule, a final traditional lunch will be arranged before departure.
