Visit the historical monument that is the center of religious tourism in the city. Every June, the city hosts festive events called “Pavleia.”

The Veroia plain produces a significant portion of Greece’s fruits and vegetables. The city hosts one of the largest metropolitan churches in the Balkans. Walking through the streets, you encounter stone mansions with “sahnisia” – wooden balconies supported by chestnut beams, remaining unaltered through time, reflecting the grandeur of local architecture.

Gastronomy – Memory, Flavor, and Local Secrets

Visitors can explore a lively city and taste the local cuisine influenced by Asia Minor, Vlach, and Pontic traditions, paired with the region’s wines and tsipouro. Must-try dishes include lamb-stuffed “Koukouloto,” parsley-filled “Sarmadakia,” and quince-flavored stews, complemented by local Xinomavro wine. End your meal with a fruit preserve dessert or the famous local “Revani.”

How to get around in Veria

Transportation options to/from the airport

Travel to Veria by road. From Thessaloniki, follow the national road toward Kozani and at the junction for Veria–Vergina turn toward the city. From Athens, take the Athens–Thessaloniki national road. The city is also accessible by intercity KTEL buses as well as by OSE trains.

Public Transportation

Getting around the city is done by private car or on foot in selected areas of tourist interest. Alternatively, you can use public transportation or taxis. Vergina can be reached by private car or bus.

Je n'ai pas encore eu l'occasion de vous remercier pour ce voyage. Le voyage et les hôtels étaient super !Nous n'avons pas été mouillés et nous avons eu tout ce que nous souhaitions. Athens 4 days Group Tour from Germany

Thank you very much for the group to Athens! They had a great time. They were very enthusiastic about the trip & guide Jason. he swimming/beach stop after Corinth was a big plus. They enjoyed the nature as addition to the city and culture. Always good to add that when visiting Corinth.

The location of the hotel was very good, so a bus transfer in the evening was not always necessary. They could have easily come back via the metro to the hotel. That would have saved us real money.

Thanks again and looking forward to all the coming groups!

My Kids and I loved the trip except for our lost baggage from the Aegean airlines upon arrival at Athens at the start of the trip.Loved all the sightseeing. Tour guides and Pick up services were awesome!! Tour guides were very knowledgeable in their area and history of the city and my kids and I loved that. They answered all our questions. Pick up services were always on time.I just wish I had a little more time in Corfu to do the boat tour as I had planned. Wasn’t able to accomplish that.
