Ios
Experience Ios as you never expected – intense life, authentic villages, and quiet beaches for every pace
Ios is an island of contrasts, renowned for its youthful energy yet beloved by those seeking quiet escapes in an authentic Cycladic setting. Chora, built amphitheatrically and full of vitality, teems with nightlife, but just a few steps away, the cobblestone alleys lead you to peaceful squares and churches. Ios hides magical beaches like Mylopotas and Manganari, accessible even in August. The island of Homer, of contradiction, and of light, invites you to experience it at your own pace, whether frantic or quiet. Chora, with its 365 churches and whitewashed houses, is impressive, while the inland offers exploration and culture. It is a destination for the young of all ages.

Gastronomic journey to Ios
A feast of local flavors awaits those lucky enough to visit the island: chickpea fritters and sun-dried whitebait with the taste of the Aegean, “tsimetia” (stuffed zucchini flowers), zucchini omelet, and “dolmadakia” with fresh vine leaves. And even more: “sougli” with “tsiarides” (a traditional breakfast), “panada” (leavened bread dipped in red sauce—perfect for a snack!), “Mosenta” (watermelon pie), as well as dried figs! Don’t leave without taking with you the local “skotyri” cheese (a soft goat cheese with herbs), as well as the exceptional thyme honey and pomegranate liqueur.

The best period to visit Ios
It would be superfluous to say that the best time to visit Ios is during the summer months, though this shouldn’t limit us, as summer in Greece begins in May and often ends in October. You can, therefore, start packing your bags without hesitation.
