Golden Island
It has all the characteristics of a little virgin paradise. The shallow blue-green sea, the sandy beaches that are full of small seashells and the rare cedar forest are among the most impressive features of the island.
Olive tree in Kavousi
This olive tree has been declared a "Monumental". The dimensions of the tree are 4.90m height and the perimeter of 14.20m. The age of the tree is estimated at about 3,250 years according to the method of annual rings.
The gorge of Ha
It is considered one of the most difficult gorges in Europe and concerns only experienced climbers. Crossing it requires technical knowledge and canyoning equipment. In the gorge there are 27 waterfalls and a great variety of flora and fauna of Crete.
The Gournia

The Venetian Castle that dominates the port of Ierapetra, was built according to tradition by the pirate Pescator in 1212 AD. The name "kales" comes from the Turkish word "koules" which means tower.

If you want to travel to Ierapetra from Athens by ferry, you must first travel from the port of Piraeus by ferry to Sitia or Heraklion and from there if you do not have your own means of transport by bus or taxi. By air you can be served by flight from Athens or Thessaloniki to Heraklion which is the nearest airport and from there by bus or taxi.
