Itinerary
Arrival

Limassol, Curium & Omodos Village
We begin with a stroll through Limassol’s old town, where narrow alleys and the 13th-century castle reflect the city’s medieval past. Next, we visit the ancient city-kingdom of Curium, home to a beautifully restored Greco-Roman theatre, the House of Eustolios with intricate mosaics, and a 5th- century Christian basilica. In the afternoon, we head to Omodos, a picturesque wine village built around the Holy Cross Monastery. We enjoy a wine tasting at the traditional wine press and explore local shops with handmade Cypriot products. Dinner and overnight in Limassol.
Nicosia – South & North
Today we visit Nicosia, the world’s last divided capital. In the southern part, we explore the Archaeological Museum (or the newly reopened Byzantine Museum), the 17th-century Cathedral of St. John, and the Venetian Walls encircling the old town.Crossing into the occupied north through Ledra Street, we visit Buyuk Han, a fine example of Ottoman architecture, and see the Cathedral of St. Sophia (viewed from outside), now functioning as a mosque.
Return to Limassol for dinner and overnight.
UNESCO Paphos
We head to Paphos, a UNESCO-protected city. First stop is the unique 9th-century Church of St. Paraskevi in Yeroskipou. We then visit St. Neophytos Monastery, with its mountain-carved ‘Enkleistra’ covered in impressive Byzantine frescoes. In the city, we see St. Paul’s Pillar, then explore the House of Dionysos in the Archaeological Park—home to some of the finest mosaics in the Eastern Mediterranean. Return to Limassol for dinner and overnight.
Famagusta & Larnaca
Crossing into the northern occupied area, we visit the Church of St. Barnabas, now a museum of ancient artifacts, and explore the ruins of Salamis, a former Roman capital featuring a gymnasium, theatre, and basilica.
We admire the Venetian walls of Famagusta before heading south to Larnaca to visit the 9th-century Church of St. Lazarus, built over the saint’s tomb. Dinner and overnight in Limassol.
Byzantine UNESCO Churches – Troodos Region
In the Troodos Mountains, we visit two of Cyprus’s UNESCO-listed Byzantine churches. First is the Church of St. John Lampadistis in Kalopanayiotis, known for its 16th-century icon and riverside setting. Then, we explore Kakopetria, a charming village with restored traditional houses. Nearby, the Church of Ayios Nikolaos tis Stegis is entirely covered in wall paintings from the 11th–17th centuries, offering a rich glimpse into Byzantine artistry. Return to Limassol for dinner and overnight.
Larnaca Mountains – Villages & Traditions
We begin in Lefkara, famous for its intricate lace (Lefkaritika) and silverwork—legend says da Vinci visited and purchased an altar cloth for Milan’s cathedral. Next, we stop at the 15th-century St. Minas Monastery in Vavla, where nuns paint icons and sell homemade products. In Choirokoitia, we visit the Museum of Local Basketry. Mr. Petros welcomes us with a demonstration of halloumi-making and offers a traditional lunch in his lovely garden, surrounded by handmade baskets. Return to Limassol for dinner and overnight.
